Since returning to Canada from 13 ½ years in Berlin in Spring of 2003 where I did more than just teaching and translating, I have been designing and building shows like crazy for Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company, The Saskatoon Opera and La Troupe du Jour. Many of them were touring shows. Some of the highlights were The Velvet Devil by Andrea Menard; 400 Kilometres, Indian Time and Buz'Gem Blues by Drew Hayden Taylor; Annabel: tale of a girl and her raven, Where Spirits Walk and RRAP by Mark Dieter, Crystal Clear by Dawn Dumont, Centre Stage Live at the Bessborough and a Paris sidewalk café for a wedding at SNTC, The Barber of Seville, Die Fledermaus,  Don Giovanni, L’Elisir d’amor and Rigoletto for the Saskatoon Opera Association and Cinq ans and Deux Frères by David Beaudemont and Unity 1918 for La Troupe du Jour. My previous experience in set, costume and prop design was with Persephone Theatre, la Troupe du Jour and 25th Street theatre as well as a myriad of clown, commedia, puppet and children’s theatre shows with independent groups in Canada and Berlin such as Theatre in a Bag, IDC Group, Theater Strano. I started my “professional” design career with Persephone Theatre where I started working as Props Master in 1983.

I’m a painter and enjoy covering the stage and set with paint to create a magical place for performers.
